Hellllooo Beautiful warriors, survivors, Queens, and Kings! Welcome back, and happy JULY! We are so excited to share our plans with you...so before we lay out our new changes and hopefully, "upgrades" we wanted to say "Thanks." Thank you to all of those who have stuck by us, encouraged, and supported the journey Cristal and I have chosen to take by speaking candidly of our experiences post sexual assault. Our mission is to empower and edify the stories both told and untold of other survivors beginning with being transparent of own testimonies.
Moving forward, we want to diversify our feed on all social media platforms by bringing more valuable content. The content we bring will be on a weekly basis like before, while still adhering to a monthly theme. We're opening and closing every month with in-depth pieces from Cristal and myself, and filling the rest with other artistic mediums, articles, imagery, guest writers and features! So let's get this new month started with a theme we want dive a little deeper in with our discussion of Self-love & self-care. We'll be discussing and encouraging throughout this month on "Strategies of Self-love & Self-care" so stay tuned for some of the ways Cristal and myself balance life, fashion, family, work...and everything in between while putting the "I" back Living!! From Cristal: Self-Love is something we often hear that is crucial to our life, but not always easy to apply especially when LOVE is hard to express due to jaded experiences of the past. After being raped it was very hard for me to give myself the love of self I deserved. My perception of self-love was limited to telling myself "I love me," or solely giving my self a hug etc., but even though I slowly became comfortable getting to even THAT place, I realized self-love goes beyond the points of professing "self-love". Loving myself required activity...and caring for me. Self-care takes many forms whether it be weekly facials, to getting my hair done (great therapy might I add... ha ha) to reading a favorite book. Just know whatever that looks like for you, take it as a process, as we show you our progress and strategies of Self-love & Self-care....Remember you are not alone, we are in this together. Stay tuned for more, and as always... Sending you love and standing in solidarity, 💗Herstory
